Hp Envy 14, the 14.5 inches version of HP premium laptop line that has both the style and better performance including the greater display and audio quality has been released in U.S. Last year HP had released the Envy 13 and 15 high style notebooks that were targeted to give the competition to Apple MacBook Pro. Those were very stylish, powerful but when you take a look over their prices, they were mediocre ergonomics dampened you. Therefore HP now launch the HP Envy 14 which starts from $999 ($1289 as configured).
In HP Envy 14, ther is a tweak in the design by adding the optical drive and a backlit keyboard but the most highlighting feature is the 14.5 inches display that lies in between the 13 inch and 15 inch Macbook. Other than that it has the Core i5 processor, ATI switchable graphics that can give you equally performance like the MacBook. The Touchpad is also updated for better usage. The introduction of the radiance display is also ideal for movies, games and other things that involve better graphics. The HP Envy 14 has superb Beats Audio that gives great sound so it is just a complete package for your entertainment.
Design
It is similar like its predecessors with an aluminum and magnesium body with paisley-esque pattern on the lid and deck. Other highlights are the backlit HP Logo, smooth black bottom where optional slice battery can be attached. Since it has now the optical drive, it is little thicker and its dimensions are 14 x 9.3 x 1.1 inches that indicates that it is little thick than its predecessors. It weights more than Envy 15 and is 5.4 pounds but is lighter than 15 inch Macbook Pro which weights 5.6 pounds. Overall it gives a very attractive look and so stands in the list of most beautiful laptops in market today.
Heat
In the HP Envy 14, the designers have solved the heat dissipation issue that was occurred in the Envy 15 notebooks. Now on Envy 14 the acceptable temperature is dissipated.
Keyboard and Touchpad
It carry the black island style keyboard that have backlighting but still have two settings (on or off) whereas the MacBook Pro has the gradient lighting. The mouse buttons integrated with the touchpad is spacious (4.25 x 2.5 inches). Overall navigation through the touchpad is fun on the HP Envy 14 laptops.
